Issues that Matter

Beth Witrogen McLeod, journalist, speaker and consultant on spirituality, health and caregiving

The most important issues to me are self-care (body, mind and spirit), respite care, and caregiving education and training. So much of these issues involve women, especially women at midlife, whether they are sandwiched or are going through their own menopause or whatever, but caregiving adds a complicated dimension to a woman's life at an already stressful time of her life.

Think of the exhaustion, fatigue, guilt and depression. I can't tell you how many women have fibromyalgia and fatigue and exhaustion and burn out and all of that.
